On the anniversary of the first night Thad Jones and Mel Lewis performed with their new group called "The Big Band", little did they know an icon was being born. 57 years later that band (now called the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra) still plays every Monday Night.

The SAO will pay tribute to those two men and those that have played in that band for over half a century. As always, there is NO COVER at the Union House. Come and enjoy the food and drinks while hearing one of the best big band tribute bands out there just the way Skatch would have wanted it.
